What to say when you are sure
Sometimes we are one hundred per cent sure that things will happen. How do we transmit this?
- We can use the auxiliary will, as in “It will rain. Look at those dark clouds”.
- We can use the adverbs definitely, evidently, certainly, doubtlessly, inevitably, absolutely or surely: “She’s certainly the best candidate”.
- We can use the adjectives definite, certain, evident, doubtless, inevitable, or sure, as in this case: “Their failure is inevitable; their sales have gone down every year.”
